People of the future send a time machine to help Bill and Ted pass their history class.
I remembered this movie being cute and funny from seeing it when it came out…I did not, however, remember that Ted was played by Keanu “If I move my face it’ll crack” Reeves. He was much cuter and a better actor then…sigh.
This is a charming and amusing feel-good movie. There’s enough action amid the silliness to keep you watching, but those two genial goofballs, Bill and Ted, are the best part of the show.
They are indeed infinitely parodyable, as Garth and Wayne and Beavis and Butthead prove…but the originals are always the best, and this movie is no exception to that rule. Plus the dialogue and situations are really clever and amusing, esp. the time travel solutions to all plot problems.
A good movie for putting your mind in neutral and not thinking much.
