It’s about cavemen, of course.
This was the fourth entry in the New Year’s Day Videofest (theme: B.C.) and we expected it to suck.
Ringo Starr is in it, and it’s usually listed among awful movies or cult classics (often the same thing).
But the part we didn’t know until we started watching it? It’s a parody of One Million Years B.C. starring Raquel Welch and her fur bikini. An almost scene-for-scene ripoff, and very well done; it was MUCH better than we expected.
Ringo Starr is his usual ingenuous charming self. Added bonus: Shelley Long and a very young (27) Dennis Quaid, looking as cute as a box full of puppy dogs. And the fur-bikini-wearer was Barbara Bach; this is where she met Ringo, and they married right after they finished filming this, and are still married thirty years later. So the movie wasn’t a total loss…
No, seriously, it had many funny moments, and the claymation-like dinosaurs and giant insects were hilarious. We all enjoyed this quite a bit, a pleasant surprise.
