From the book of the same name by Dr. Seuss
The Grinch finds out that there’s more to Xmas than just presents…
I remember when this much-loved book first showed up on TV, and have watched it just about every year in the (almost 40) since then. A truly marvelous story, told in Dr. Seuss’ wacky and completely recognizable rhyme, brought to life by Chuck Jones, with added songs, music and (the best part) Boris Karloff narrating and being the Grinch. Oh joy!
This is one of the best examples I’ve ever seen of a book that was not only lovingly recreated by the filmmakers, but (dare I say it?) improved upon and made even better. If you haven’t seen it, you’re missing one of the best Christmas treats ever.
Mr. Otter still doesn’t believe that I always cry at the end of the story…but I do, and you will too.
