The Internet Movie Database Movie Reviews
Several stories about LA gangsters intertwine.
John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson are enforcers for Ving Rhames the drug lord, who has a beautiful new wife (Uma Thurman) and who is bribing Bruce Willis the boxer to throw a fight. Meanwhile, two thieves are holding up a restaurant and a bunch of other stuff is going on. And it’s all connected. Brilliantly.
This movie is an Otter Family Favorite, both for the actors and for the lovely interconnectedness of the storyline.
Sure, it’s gross and violent, it’s Tarantino. Duh. But the scene where the guy’s head gets blown off? HYSTERICALLY funny. I’m laughing now thinking about it.
Seriously, you get to know a lot about a lot of people in a very short time, all of them are really great characters, and you have to put the details together yourself, which is one of the best parts. And I am purposely not saying a lot about it, because I don’t want to give anything away. So I’ll just say:
This is a BRILLIANT MOVIE. If you haven’t seen it, stop reading right now and run out and buy a copy, you’ll be glad you did.
